James W. Hill's Josh Ince was Oakville's other double-gold winner, posting victories in the intermediate boys' 800m and 1,500m events. Ince's times were both meet records as well. Other individual gold winners from Oakville included Brookdale's Marley Higgs (junior girls' long jump), Kurt Vos (junior boys' 400m), Keira Thacker (intermediate girls' shot put), Aurora Cordingley (intermediate girls' 1,500m), Emma McGivor (senior girls' 200m) and Alex Moyssakas (senior girls' long jump); James W. Hill's Kelsey Gesynowicz (junior girls' 1,500m), Liam Moore (senior boys' 800m) and Jordan Figueira (senior boys' triple jump); Palermo's Natalie Smith (intermediate girls' 800m) and Quin McCleary (senior boys' 1,500m); and Pilgrim Wood's Maddie Cummins (senior girls' 100m) and Michael Hickey (senior boys' long jump). Higgs, Thacker, Cordingley, Moyssakas and Smith set meet records in the process. In team competition, Brookdale (senior girls) and Pilgrim Wood (senior boys) were both relay winners and division champions. Pilgrim Wood's boys set a record in their relay win. Brookdale finished the meet with 245 points, finishing second overall to Campbellville's Brookville. James W. Hill was third overall with 235 points. The Watson meet, designed for the smallest schools in the region, marked the final competition longtime Halton elementary convener Diane Watson (for whom the event is named) will oversee. Watson is retiring this summer. Oakville schools Montclair and Munn's attended the Watson meet when it was originally scheduled last month, but were unable to return for the make-up date after the event was postponed due to weather.
