Working high heels for Halton Women's Place Halton Women's Place is still looking for a few good men to strap on some women's shoes for a good cause. HWP, which provides shelter and crisis services for women in need, will hold its annual Hope in High Heels fundraising event at Boston Pizza, 270 North Service Rd. W., on Sunday, Sept. 9. The event will see male volunteers walk in high-heeled shoes (provided by HWP) for slightly less than a kilometre to support ending violence against women. "We have had a great response over the last couple of years to the event," said Carm Bozzo, development manager of Halton Women's Place. "There are many men in our community who want to spread more awareness about how to end violence against women." Last year, more than $65,000 was raised. The Oakville walk will begin and end at Boston Pizza, where a post walk lunch will be held for all participants. Registration begins at 10 a.m. 9 · Thursday, August 30, 2012 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com "We have had a great response over the last couple of years with (Hope in High Heels).
