Oakville Half to be part of CBC sports celebration The Oakville Half Marathon will participate in the third annual Sports Day in Canada, a CBC-televised national celebration of sport from grassroots to high-performance levels. The Oakville Half Marathon will take place Sunday, Sept. 23, marking the beginning of week-long Sports Day in Canada celebrations. Sports Day in Canada will officially take place Saturday, Sept. 29. CBC Sports' Scott Russell will both participate in the Oakville Half Marathon and host the event's awards ceremony. Russell will also be the official on-site host of Sports Day in Canada.
