Humane Society has too many rabbits The Oakville & Milton Humane Society (OMHS) issued an urgent appeal yesterday that it needs foster homes to help care for 37 rabbits recently surrendered to the shelter. This call for help comes following two separate incidents. Yesterday afternoon, a woman running a commercial pet rabbit breeding operation in Oakville surrendered 27 rabbits to the society. According to an OMHS spokesperson, an investigation is underway in relation to the OSPCA Act and Town of Oakville bylaw which limits the number of rabbits that may be kept in a residential area to two. The arrival of the 27 rabbits follows that of another 10 rabbits left at the front door of the Cornwall Road shelter earlier this week. While Humane Society officials believe the incidents are unrelated, the mass influx of so many rabbits has placed a great strain on the OMHS to care for the animals. Anyone willing to foster a rabbit, or family of rabbits, is asked to contact 905-845-1551. 7 · Friday, November 23, 2012 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com NATURAL RELIEF Welcome to the Wonderful World of Playmobil Toys reg. priced items BEFORE RE AFTER 20% off Come and learn why proper foot care promotes optimum health from the ground up 213 Lakeshore Rd., East (905) 339-Foot (3668) OPEN: Tuesday-Sunday CLOSED: Monday Store Hours: Monday closed Tuesday to Friday 10 am - 5 pm Saturday 11 am - 4 pm Special hours in December 22, 23, 24 9 am - 5 pm, closed 25 and 26 BOXING DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS!
