www.insideHALTON.com · OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, November 28, 2012 · 8 Witnesses sought after man stabbed at bar By David Lea OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Halton police are asking for the public's help in apprehending the man who stabbed a 26-year-old Mississauga resident early Saturday at the Fogo Tapas Bar and Lounge, located at 1140 Winston Churchill Blvd. Police said shortly before 1 a.m., a fight broke out between several people at the bar during which the victim was slashed on his arms and stabbed multiple times in the abdomen. Police were called to the scene, but by the time officers arrived, the victim had already been taken to Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) where he underwent surgery for his injuries, which were described as non-life threatening. "During the course of witness interviews some patrons of the bar did say they had witnessed an altercation in the area of the bar, but as of yet nobody can provide a description of anybody who they saw in contact with the victim," said Det. Eric Schwab, Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau. Police said the bar was busy at the time the fight broke out and are appealing to anyone who may have been there that evening -- or in the general vicinity of the plaza to contact them. Anyone with information that would assist in this investigation is asked to call the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-8254747, ext. 2215 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.haltoncrimestoppers.com or by texting `Tip201' with your message to 274637 (crimes). www.oakville.ca 2013 Budget Be informed.
