Two years ago, I visited this bustling town, not expecting much. However, to my surprise, I immediately fell in love with the quaintness of it all -- it was beautiful. The old cobblestone buildings seamlessly com- B plemented the straight edges of the 21st century. People of all sorts wandered, living harmoniously together in their haven. My mom and I ran around, only with a mere day to try and experience everything. From Quincy Market's amazing lobster to day dreaming about Harvard, Boston was a dream come true. I knew coming back was a must. Last summer, I fulfilled my promise and flew back, this time staying for a week. I was introduced to a more local perspective instead of the touristy persona we channelled during · Scrap Booking · School Supplies · Everyday Items NOW OPEN · Summer Toys · Party Supplies · Custom Balloons 1289 MARLBOROUGH COURT, OAKVILLE. ACROSS FROM SHERIDAN COLLEGE (905) 845 PLUS (7587) my first trip. Yet again I was amazed. This time at the culture and acceptance of different citizens -- this city was truly marvellous. My favourite excursion was taking a ferry out to what seemed like the neverending waters. The whales danced under the sunset, salty winds gave me goosebumps and calm waves rocked me to sleep. That was a day I'll never forget. In the middle of our stay, my mom insisted that we go to the Museum of Fine Arts "for some fun." I cringed at the thought of walls and walls of boring paintings and unoriginal displays. Yup, you guessed it. It was the exact opposite, with colourful masterpieces of world-renowned artists such as Monet, Picasso and Degas. On our last night, a much anticipated Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox baseball game was being played, although we could not get tickets, it was equally amusing listening from the outside. The subways were crowded with fans from all over the U.S., a playful dispute between a Red Sox and Mariners fan had the whole cart chuckling and sharing their opinions. And suddenly, almost overnight, the calmness of Boston turned into the hustle bustle of your average city. I was upset my trip had come to an end, but I was also glad because it was a great experience. I love this city, even though I don't live there, I still consider it my city. Thank you Boston, for everything. · · · Days ago, while I was browsing Twitter, I found out the terrible news about my city. Multiple bombs hit, causing mayhem at the Boston Marathon. It's certainly frightening, I cannot imagine how the citizens are feeling right now. Why would this happen? I imagine innocent citizens eagerly running a marathon when they hear a blast and screams, and eventually sirens. In spite of the tough times, Bostonians have pulled together, demonstrating teamwork that has been praised by many. I trust that this strong city will be able to rebuild itself with our help and prayers. Thinking of you, Boston.
