The family event, which begins at 8:30 a.m., features a number of fun activities including a Mom and Tot tree climb; bucket truck rides; a horse-drawn log pull and a drumming circle. Those who attend can also learn what to do to protect Oakville's ash trees from the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). "Trees are definitely worth celebrating. Not only do they enhance the beauty of our community, but they provide oxygen and food," said John McNeil, manager of Forestry Services. "Trees help cool the environment and our homes. They create habitats for wildlife. And most importantly, they are teachers and playmates. Trees bring people together." The bike ride portion of the event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. along a 22-km stretch of Oakville and Burlington's waterfront.
