W., and the following RBC Royal Bank branches: Trafalgar Road and Lakeshore Road East; 309 Hayes Blvd.; Cornwall Road; and Fourth Line and Speers Road. Engaging community volunteers Empty Bowls is one of Oakville's largest community volunteer events. More than 1,000 volunteers help out each year to make it a reality. Event co-chairs Tracy Kodama and Joanne Peters rally a steering committee of 15 senior volunteers, who start the event planning in February of each year. Over the next eight months, more than 700 bowls are painted by community artisans and volunteers, 700 tickets are sold, 100 volunteers will assist on the day of the event, 18 food vendors will provide delectable delights, and 12 corporate sponsors will provide sponsorship support. In addition, more than $100,000 will be raised to help local single-parent families facing the devastation of homelessness here in Oakville and across Halton. Support by community sponsors The annual fundraising event could never be the community success that it is without the superlative support from community sponsors. This year's event marks the second year The Taylor Group has been the title sponsor. RBC Royal Bank and Longo's continue to lend leadership support at the Gold Spoon sponsor level. These three sponsors alone represent 25 per cent of the funding support for the event. With fundraising goals of more than $100,000 to help some of Oakville's most vulnerable families, this sponsorship support is vital to the work of HSH. Other key sponsors for the event are: Henderson Partners; the Oakville Beaver; Crack Pot Studio; COBS Bread Oakville; Bayshore Home Health; Kwik Kopy; Revera; Vision Transportation and Whole Foods. -- Submitted by Janice Moro, executive director, Home Suite Hope is pleased to announce the formation of This is a totally non-profit group and open to all residents of `Glen Abbey'.
