Heritage Glen P .S. needs classrooms by Bob Mitchell Special to the Beaver 11 | Wednesday, October 23, 2013 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com An Oakville public school has been moved up on the priority list of capital projects. New projections indicate Heritage Glen Public School, on Heritage Way in Glen Abbey, will need six additional classrooms to accommodate increased enrolment primarily because of a higher than expected increase in French Immersion students coming from the Captain R. Wilson Public School feeder school, as well as an internal increase in JK to Grade 8 students. Site constraints now prevent adding six new rooms. Instead, officials with the Halton District School Board believe six existing rooms can be retrofitted in time for the 201415 school year. Initially, it appeared as if the school would have enough space and portables for the next decade when projections were made in 2012. With an additional 59 students now attending the school and limited space in certain special-education designated rooms, the school now needs three more portables for this year. It now has a capacity of four portables.
