"Oakville has many great natural spaces, trails and parks and places to recreate but people living here, even some who've been here for several years, may not know about them," said OCA President Karen Brock in a news release. "We want to give people a chance to meet their neighbours, learn about their community, let them ask questions and provide them with information that will help them feel at home." The free, one-hour sessions will be held on three consecutive Thursdays (Nov. 14, 21, 28) at the Oakville and Trafalgar rooms at Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Rd., from 7:30-8:30 p.m. "Each session is the same, but we just wanted to give residents several chances to drop by and learn more about their neighbourhood," said Liz Benneian, OCA manager of partnership programs. The events are held in partnership with the Town of Oakville and residents will be able to pick up information on parks and recreation, Conservation Halton, wildlife, landscaping with native plants, Town policies and the Natural Heritage System.
