www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Wednesday, December 11, 2013 | 12 Mrs. Claus will deliver felines this Christmas Mrs. Claus will be volunteering this Christmas with the Oakville & Milton Humane Society (OMHS) and its Santa Paws Delivery Service. "Santa is so busy at this time of year. I found myself with free time on my hands and wanted to help the humane society, so I asked if they could use my services," Mrs. Claus said, according to an OMHS news release. Families who adopt a cat or kitten between Dec. 12-22 will have the option of having Mrs. Claus delivering their furry new family member on Dec. 24 between 4-7 p.m. or Dec. 25 from 9 a.m.noon. There is an additional charge of $100 for the Santa Paws Delivery Service, which in- HOLIDAY INN & SUITES OAKVILLE @ BRONTE cludes boarding of the cat or kitten at the OMHS until delivery, a cardboard carrier and delivery costs. As Santa will be using the sleigh, Mrs. Claus will be delivering the felines in a speciallymarked Santa Paws Delivery van. Funds raised by the holiday delivery service will help the other animals at the shelter waiting for forever homes. "After many years of tracking, we've found that our holiday adoptions are every bit as successful as adoptions at other times of the year," Stephanie Aleksich, OMHS manager of customer care, stated in the release. "When we found out Mrs. Claus wanted to volunteer, we knew we could make some really special holiday memories happen for families in Oakville and Milton, as well as finding forever homes for some lucky kitties." The same adoption policies and procedures are in place for the Santa Paws Delivery Service adopters as for regular adopters. The OMHS currently has close to 400 cats in its care, including the more than 100 felines rescued from a Halton Hills house earlier this year. For more information, visit www.omhs.ca. KAOS Music offers lessons for all ages including special beginner groups. This past September, KAOS Music opened its first satellite school in the Maple Grove Village mall on Cornwall at Maplegrove, and began teaching private music lessons as well as group guitar classes exclusively for adults. The beautifully-designed studio offers private lesson in piano, guitar, voice, violin as well as woodwinds and ukulele. There is also a specialized beginner adult group guitar program created by the NYC Guitar School in Manhattan. Designed for adults with nothing more then a desire to play guitar, this course teaches adults how to get playing quickly in a fun social one hour weekly class. There is no note reading at all, just playing technique and lots of fun. It's designed for adults with busy work schedules with multiple options for the students if they miss a class. While only a few months old at this point, KAOS Music Lesson Studios leans on its years of experience running its Toronto based music store and school, founded in 1989 by owner Bill Bates. The new Oakville school offers a talented and dynamic faculty of teachers and further benefits from Bates' wife and business partner Shana, who brings her unique brand of style and enthusiasm to the Oakville location. Being a brand new facility, the owners were able to build a studio with spacious, comfortable, sound controlled rooms for its students to learn in, outfitted with state of the art equipment. For parents and caregivers, the contemporary design of the waiting area provides a space to relax and rejuvenate while waiting. It also has a stock of books and Lego for any extra kids to play with while waiting. This is all topped off with complimentary filtered water and a selection of fruit for the customers. Kaos Music is located at 511 Maplegrove Rd. unit 38 in the Maplegrove Village Mall. For information, call 289-813-3234 or email info@ kaosmusicoakville.com.
