Loving sister to Shirley Scarrow (Jim) and predeceased by her sister Betty Bunce (2013). Dear aunt to John Yarnold, Joan Gilbert, Judy Bianchi, Jill Seccaspina, Lynn Shaw, Susan Roth, Robert Scarrow and the late Allan Scarrow and great-aunt to many and to whom she was very generous and special. Special thanks to the nursing staff on 4 East at OTMH. Helen was a lifelong resident of Oakville and was a long time member of the Trafalgar Golf Club. Helen loved dogs and memorial donations to the Oakville Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. There will be a private family burial at St. Jude's Cemetery. Condolences through www.koprivataylor.com MACEACHERN, Genevieve (nee Gray) - Age 78, of Oakville, Ont, formerly of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully on Feb 8th, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Genevieve was born in West Bay Marshes, Cape Breton and was the daughter of the late William Gray and Mary Bessie (Campbell) Gray. Survived by sons Paul (Catherine) Dartmouth, William Oakville; and Tony (Denise) Oakville; daughters Kathleen (Leo) Gratton Oakville, Karen (Brian) Kelly Dartmouth, Diana Costa (Oakville); grandchildren Lisa (Chris), Susan (Kent), Adam (Shannon), Matthew, Melissa (Jeff), James (Chantel) and Cameron; great-grandchildren Evan, Katie, Dakota, Sydney, AJ and Charlotte Rae; sister Miriam Ryer (Halifax) and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Genevieve was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 50 years Walter; brothers Alex, Roderick, William, Donald and Howard MacLean; sisters Evelyn Gray and Katherine Halliday. Family was most important to Mom. She defined what a wife, mother and grandmother should be. She was a tireless homemaker, taking great pride in her cooking and baking and making a warm and comfortable home for her family. Special thanks to Dr. Omar Zayid, Dr. Cindy Quinton, Linda Taborowski Home Care nurse , the staff and volunteers at Ian Anderson House for their wonderful care, and to the numerous family and friends for their love and support during this time. She was a fighter and never gave up trying to overcome the obstacles that she faced. Most recently she won the battle against Lymphoma. Friends and Family will always think of Barb as a shopper extraordinaire, an avid bargain hunter with a flair for finding the best deals around.
