"Clean Sweep is another great example of how deeply our community cares about our neighbourhoods and our environment," said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton. "By taking a few minutes out of our busy schedules to give back, we demonstrate our commitment to keeping Oakville beautiful and continue to move forward with our vision of creating the most livable town in Canada." Those who register online at www.oakville.ca will receive free GLAD bags and gloves to help in the cleanup efforts. Choose a pickup location and date and pick up supplies (one glove per person and one bag per five people) at the following locations: · Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Rd. · Iroquois Ridge Community Centre, 1051 Glenashton Dr. · Glen Abbey Community Centre, 1415 Third Line · River Oaks Community Centre, 2400 Sixth Line · Sixteen Mile Sports Complex, 3070 Neyagawa Blvd. · Queen Elizabeth Park Cultural and Community Centre, 2302 Bridge Rd. Participating residents are also being encouraged to take pictures or videos and post them on the Town's Facebook and/or Twitter page for a chance to win a gift basket. After the cleanup, email the Town at clean- sweep@oakville.ca to let staffers know how many large bags of garbage have been collected. Residents can place their GLAD garbage bags out on their regular garbage collection day free of charge above the three-bag limit provided they are GLAD garbage bags.
