The O'Conner Girls opens Thursday Oct. 4 at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts. Liz O'Conner has always been `the pretty one,' a real head turner, although in middle-age she notices the heads turn back just as quickly. Her twin sister Martha, `the plain one,' has remained at the family home in Minnesota this past year, caring for their ailing father. Secrets, past and present, emerge against the backdrop of scenes remembered from the old movies screened by their father at the theatre he ran in town. Director Lana Borsellino says she was attracted to the sincerity of the play. "I felt a kinship with the characters," said Borsellino. "This is a play about healing, and I know the audience will experience that feeling." The O'Conner Girls is on stage at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts from Thursday, Oct. 4 to Saturday, Oct. 6 and Wednesday, Oct. 10 to Saturday, Oct. 13.
