This marks the 20th year the local funeral home is organizing the recognition program. "(It's) in support of the many veterans that granted us the opportunity to celebrate Canada Day," said Steven Reynolds, Oakview funeral director. The annual Relay for Life Oakville was held Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish. He told the Oakville Beaver Tuesday, after being sworn in -- again -- at Queen's Park, that he's looking forward to his responsibilities, which include advancing safe, fair workplace practices that assist people, businesses and the economy, as well as moving forward with the Fair Minimum Wage Act. "There are great things happening in the Ministry of Labour right now. We were able to get some good legislation and regulations through before the end of the sitting, but we've obviously got a lot more to do and I want to be a part of that," he said.
