The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday April 17, 2002 - B5 Working Together to Help Others ^ ip ' ^Women and children Many women who come to our programs have suffered abuse in one form or another. We welcome them into a warm, supportive ivironment where they find structure, val ues and a sense o f security. We offer parentg classes, day care, job training, maternity programs and life skills such as budgeting and household management. These women return to their com m unity with a renewed sense of purpose and strength. The Salvation Army helps heal the wounds left from years of abuse and build hope for a brighter future. Broken families T he Salvation Army's family tracing service contributes to family stability by helping restore family relationships. Its aim is to locate, on behalf o f the inquirer, a family member who is out o f touch so that contact is renewed or, in some cases, established for the first time. Often, the reunion brings together other relatives within the family circle. T he family tracing service upholds the value and integrity o f family life and helps bring healing to broken relationships.
