To date, seven males, including four former members of the Burlington 905-849-4998 A+ RATING Sailing and Boating Club, have come forward with allegations of assaults that took place in the Oakville, Burlington, Nepean and Kingston, Ont. areas when they were between the ages of 13-16, said Halton police. The alleged incidents date back to 2003, according to police, who continue to investigate. Hewson worked at numerous organizations, including the YMCAs in Oakville and Burlington, Red Cross, and Oakville and Bronte yacht clubs. Those organizations have issued statements to their members and posted messages on their respective websites. Hewson first appeared at a bail hearing May 23 and was remanded until May 27. He had two additional charges brought against him May 28. In early June, one additional charge was brought against Hewson, prior to bail being set. The study was completed in compliance with Schedule "C" of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007) which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. An Environmental Study Report (ESR) has been prepared to document the planning and decision making process undertaken for this study. This notice is to inform all interested individuals and parties that the ESR for this project has been placed in the public record for a 45-day review period in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class EA process. The Town of Oakville must receive comments on this ESR by Monday, September 15, 2014 (within 45 days from the date of this notice).
