Voter card should have arrived by now Oakville residents who are eligible to vote in next month's municipal election are starting to receive their notification cards in the mail this week, according to the Town of Oakville. The front of the card lists all locations within the resident's ward where they can vote on Oct. 27. The back of the card has all advance voting locations. A complete list of polling stations can be found on the Town's website. Advance voting is available from Oct. 6-17 for those looking to beat the Election Day lineups. New for this year is the option of voting on Election Day at any polling location listed in a resident's ward. All voting locations are physically accessible and will have accessible voting equipment, according to the Town. Town Hall will be specifically available to residents for accessible voting on Oct. 27 regardless in which ward they reside. To vote in the Oakville municipal election you must be a Canadian citizen; at least 18 years of age on voting day and a resident, owner or tenant of property in Oakville or the spouse of such owner or tenant. Residents are required to present proper identification when they vote. Acceptable forms of identification include: · Driver's licence · Ontario photo card · Ontario photo health card (must have address) · Current credit card or bank statement · Current insurance policy If you are an eligible voter and did not receive a card by the end of September, call 905-815-6015, email elections@oakville.ca, or visit the Clerk's department at Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Rd. to ensure your name is on the voters' list. If you are not able to vote on voting day or any advance voting day, call the Clerk's department to obtain information on proxy voting at 905-815-6015.
