Special guests, the Oakville Children's Choir will join the Halton Youth Chamber Orchestra and Halton Youth Symphony Orchestra (HYSO) for a fresh and varied program of clas sics and a new composition by Mark MacDonald, a member of the orchestra. The Halton Youth Cham ber Orchestra is a strings orchestra of musi cians aged 10-14 and conducted by Maestro Andrew Chung. They were recently awarded a Gold Medal for their performance of the St. P aul' s Suite (Holst) at the Peel Music Festival. Tickets for the performance cost $ 12 for adults; $8 for youth and seniors and are available by calling the Oakville Centre box office at 905-815-2021. The HYSO is a full symphony orches tra of high-school age musicians under the direction of Maestro Janez Govednik. From May 1-5, the HYSO participat ed in the Canadian Youth Orchestra Festival in Ottawa. HYSO members rehearsed and participated in work shops with members of five other orchestras from across Canada before joining in the final gala performance at the National Arts Centre.
