An annual competition organized by Mediacorp Canada Inc. has named Halton Region one of the best places to land a job. The competition recognizes the top 100 employers that lead their industries in various categories. Halton was recognized for investment in ongoing training and skills development. "We are honoured to be named one of the Top Employers in the GTA for a fourth consecutive year," Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr said in reaction to the news. "The employees who work at Halton are our greatest asset and this award is one of our most important achievements." Halton was recognized for helping students pay for school via tuition subsidies and helping employees set up a retirement savings and a bene t pension plan. The Region also offers subsidies for professional accreditation courses, as well as in-house and online training programs.
