The book con tains a forward written by the Fox fam ily. This year's theme is Unbreakable Spirit, exemplified by the late Terry Fox as he ran half way across Canada in 1980 before the return of the cancer which had resulted in the amputation of his right leg forced him to give up near Thunder Bay after running 5,373 kilo metres. Since then close to $300 million had been raised in his memory for cancer research from the annual Terry Fox Runs held at 1,100 locations across Canada and in 48 other countries. Pledge sheets are available in many locations across the Town of Oakville including the kiosk inside the public entrance at Town Hall. For more information, check out the Terry Fox Foundation Web site at www.terryfoxrun.org. Pledges can be made on line.
