www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Thursday, April 16, 2015 | 40 Eleven Oakville residents drafted by OHL teams League1 Blue Devils announce first two signings continued from p.39 where he had two goals and five assists in 32 games while playing a strong physical and defensive style. In all, 11 Oakville players were selected in the draft, including four from the Oakville Rangers. Goalie Colton Incze was selected in the fifth round by the Niagara IceDogs. Kyle Potts of the Oakville Rangers also went in the fifth round to the North Bay Battalion while Rangers teammate Derek McVey was selected in the seventh round by Erie. Defenceman Joey Berkopec was taken in the ninth round by the Owen Sound Attack and Cole Purboo also went in the ninth round to Windsor. Oakville Rangers centre Jack Ricketts was chosen in the 10th round by the Hamilton Bulldogs while defenceman Josh Rettinger was taken in the 13th round by the Flint Firebirds. Leadership should not be an issue for the Oakville Blue Devils when they begin their inaugural season in the League1 Ontario semiprofessional soccer loop next month. The first two signings of the expansion club are former captains of the Toronto Lynx (Premier Development League) squad, Taylor McNamara and Macca Wilde. McNamara, the first player to sign with the Blue Devils, has two years of experience as a professional player with the Dayton Dutch Lions of the USL Pro league. The 27-year-old is a product of the Toronto Lynx Academy program and played four years of NCAA Division 1 soccer with the University of Albany. Wilde is another Toronto Lynx Academy alumnus who recently returned from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee. He has represented Canada at the under-20 level and is a former member of the Oakville Soccer Club's former national champion Blue Devils squad, which was coached by the late Phil Iafrati. u al sf FALL STAMPEDERS PARENT INFO NIGHT WED APRIL 29, 2015 FROM 7:00 P.M. - 8:30 P.M.
