Physically, the LHS retains many of the Intrepid/Concorde's styling cues, but features a larger grille and ground effects. Under the hood is last year's all-aluminum 3.5litre SOHC V6 that produces 253 horsepower cou pled to a four-speed automatic transmission (with out AutoStick). It's the same engine found in the 300M and Chrysler (no longer Plymouth) Prowler. Along with the power comes a load full of standard lux ury features, including climate control, leather seats, power eight-way heated driver's and passen ger's bucket seats, 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels, traction control and a nine-speaker Infinity cas sette/CD sound system. As a nice retro touch, the LHS's round gauges are trimmed with chrome rings as is the standard centre-dash-mounted analog timepiece. For 2001, the LHS receives many o f the same upgrades as the sportier 300M, including new 12-spoke 17-inch wheels, stereo controls on the steering wheel and optional supplemental side airbags. You open the car door, and sud denly it sounds like the front door of Disney World's Haunted House. Or maybe you drive a minivan with a sliding door that just doesn't want to slide. Help is near at hand. As close as your nearest automotive store, in fact. There are several products that can help you get the squeak out of your hinges. Most are packaged as spray cans so that you can spray lubricant into those nooks and crannies around door hinges. Some are more of a grease that you'll have to rub on. Some of these products have graphite in them. Graphite is an excellent lubricant, but it can leave black runs on your paint. Spray oils are good, although perhaps not as long-lasting as the graphitebased lubricants. There are also penetrating oils. When you have a frozen nut that just won't come loose, spray or drip some penetrating oil onto it, let it sit for 10 minutes, and then try again to loosen it. If that doesn't work, repeat the application and then give the nut a sharp tap with a hammer to break the adhesion. Car Care Canada notes that an ounce of preven tion is worth a pound of cure. Lubricating your hinges every couple months is an excellent way to avoid problems.
