In recognition of their generosity and a matching gift, two Intensive Care Unit patient rooms and a subwaiting room in the Emergency Department will be named in their honour. The Council recently celebrated this achievement at the Shaarei Beth El Congregation (hosted by Rabbi Stephen Wise) with more than 80 donors and interfaith committee members in attendance. Pictured here are Co-Chairs: Rabbi Stephen Wise, Shaarei Beth El Congregation; Reverend Canon Dr. Darcey Lazerle, St. Simons Anglican Church; Pravin Lata Sharma; and Tina Triano, CEO of the Oakville Hospital Foundation. The Interfaith Council was formed in 2001 as a response to the 9-11 attacks in NYC and Washington. Their focus is education and advocacy on behalf of the many faith groups in Halton. They have reppresentatives from eight major faith groups in Halton: Bahá'í, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism.
