Several hundred people attended a Remembrance Day ceremony at the Oakville Cenotaph in George's Square. The solemn service attracted both young and old with veterans of Afghanistan, Korea, the Second World War and other con icts standing side-by-side to remember lost friends. Many parents brought their children and an entire class of young students could be seen waving tiny Canadian ags as the service got underway. All present were united by the red poppies they wore, the symbolism of which was discussed in an address to the crowd. "We come here today to remember those who have served, to remember those who have given of themselves, to remember those who have died and of the pain left behind and to remember the cost of war," said Rev.
