The cabaret-style-seating event is set for tomorrow (Friday) at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre's (QEPCCC) Rehearsal Hall at 7:30 p.m. "We'll be performing a variety of repertoire at this concert, music that was written and arranged specifically for the unique blend of wind orchestra instruments. You'll hear favourite film and television music, show tunes, and timeless love songs," OWO's Elizabeth Groskorth, said in a media release. "A concert like this can perhaps add fresh romance to your Valentine's Day celebrations Love is in the Aire with Oakville Wind Orchestra show or liven up your Family Day weekend. Couple it with an event of your own to create a memorable evening: consider combining it with dinner with family beforehand, or gathering with friends in a pub or coffee house for a concert post-mortem." The concert is extra special for the OWO as this year the orchestra is celebrating its 150th anniversary as an ensemble. "As such, it's not that surprising that we have the distinction of being Canada's Oldest Concert Band," said Groskorth. "The musicians of OWO value playing music. We dedicate time and effort to our craft as individuals and when we come together weekly as a group. We are so proud to be part of the heritage that has brought wind orchestra music to Oakville for 150 years. "(The concert is) a great chance to support your community's accomplishments and celebrate its history," added Groskorth. Tickets for the concert cost $20 for adults or $10 for students and seniors, and can be purchased at the door or from an OWO band member in advance. The QEPCCC is located at 2302 Bridge Rd.
