Colin Brennan to return to international stage Oakville singer Colin Brennan's talents have once again earned him international recognition. The local youngster has been asked to sing again at Autism's Got Talent at the 600-seat Mermaid Theatre in London, England on May 7. Autism's Got Talent is not a competition, but rather a talent showcase. This is will be the fifth year it is happening, put on by Anna Kennedy and the Pineapple Performing Arts School. "This is significant in that it is highly unusual that the host of this gala event asks previous artists to return to perform at Autism's Got Talent," stated a media release. Colin's parents are appreciative there are organizations and people like Kennedy who strive to showcase the talents of those living with autism, they told the Oakville Beaver in a previous interview. Colin, who lives with Autism Spectrum Disorder, was a late talker and he began singing before he began speaking. His parents say he speaks because he sings. Colin has performed at a number of competitions and the walls of his room are filled with first, second and third place certificates and medals from talent contests. Last year, Colin was afforded the chance to meet and perform for Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, after emailing her office and simply asking if she wanted to hear him sing. He has sung for other notable politicians, such as former Toronto mayor and now Councillor Rob Ford. Colin also has letters from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, who sent him a note to acknowledge his singing after she received his CD, Prince William and his wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, two from former prime minister Stephen Harper and other local politicians. Colin is fundraising to help cover the costs of attending Autism's Got Talent.
