"The curtain rises on a present-day musical theatre fanatic (only known as Man in Chair) eager to tell you about his favourite Broadway musical -- The Drowsy Chaperone. He's the ultimate `everyfan' and Drowsy is his guilty pleasure," stated a media release. "As he begins listening to the rare cast recording, the show cleverly and magically blooms to life, telling the hilarious tale of a pampered Broadway starlet, who wants to give up show business to get married, and her debonair fiancé; an overzealous producer, who sets out to sabotage the nuptials; a dizzy chorine; the Latin lover and a couple of bumbling gangsters, who double as pastry chefs. "Ruses are played. Hijinks occur. And the plot spins everyone into musical comedy euphoria," added the release. The Drowsy Chaperone features music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison. It will staged at the 1080 Linbrook Rd. school's Three Sisters Theatre from March 3-5 (7-10 p.m.) and Sunday (March 6) from 1-3 p.m. Tickets cost $22 for adults or $20 for students and seniors.
