The new awards recognize the significant accomplishments of technology companies who have developed innovative and commercially successful products or services in Halton. They're part of the inaugural Halton FUTURES Innovation Summit and Awards taking place June 2 at Oakville Conference Centre, 2515 Wyecroft Rd. The event aims to bring together the technology innovation and entrepreneur community to connect, collaborate and celebrate new technologies being developed in Halton. "The Halton FUTURES Innovation Summit and Awards is an opportunity to engage with Halton's innovation and tech entrepreneur community, raise awareness of emerging technologies that will transform our world as we know it, and to celebrate our made-inHalton innovations," stated Rina Carlini, CEO and president of Haltech in a press release. "This event will also connect large corporations with innovators and entrepreneurs from high-growth startups and SMEs (small medium enterprise) to enhance partnership opportunities and help drive innovation and business growth at the local and global levels." The summit portion of the event, Building our Connected Future, will highlight how information technology, digital media, and advanced manufacturing technologies will drive the development of smart cities impacting communications, infrastructure, transportation and health care.
