Some students called for the building of more basketball and football facilities, stating these could be a good way to promote exercise in the community and team-building through sports. Another student called for greater awareness and legislation to prevent water pollution while another spoke about the need to help and relocate animals that have lost their habitat due to development. Methods for paying for these ideas ranged from fundraisers or increased service fees to sponsorships. Using "a little bit of" tax money was also regularly listed as a solution. The youths were encouraged they already met two of the three requirements. After the students presented their ideas, they were asked to vote on their favourite idea, which could not be their own. That vote resulted in a landslide victory for 10-year-old Faris Abuain of Palermo Public School. Faris said making Oakville more accessible to people with disabilities is one way the town could be made better.
