www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Friday, October 21, 2016 | 18 Bronte Looking out across the clouds I hear the thunder roar From nature's waves so powerful Departing birds which soar In the city but aloof It seems more heavenly To walk the paths admiring The lake shore endlessly Strangers yet so welcoming We pass perchance to speak United in a pride we share A common joy we seek To cast aside the cares of life We clear our minds of fear Hear the whistling of the wind Through sailboats docked so near The harbour holds its secrets rare For those who see beyond In tranquil meditation learn How man and nature bond. -- Sue Weaver, Bronte Every week we showcase much discussed topics around town, as witnessed through the eyes of our devoted readers. Joanne Diochon took this photo of a beaver that came trundling past at Oak Park, in River Oaks while she was walking there just after dinner. She couldn't resist sharing it with us. Diochon said she'd call it simply, Oakville Beaver. | Joanne Diochon photo Oakville's Robin Leonard said, "I know it's Halloween, but this is too much. Spotted this outside my window." Debbie and Ron Tuske were walking their dogs in Bronte Waterfront Park and said they were very surprised to come across this palm tree! They said there are two near the gazebo, are wondering how they came to be there and if they'll survive the winter.
