The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday Volvo' s innovative new C30 Design is aimed to attract customers who want a compact, premium car with plenty ofstyle Volvo revealed a sporty two-door concept car at the N orth American International Auto Show in Detroit. The C30 Design Concept has a compact, sporty design w ith two doors, four individual seats and a dis tinctive glass tailgate. It is capable of 0-62 m ph in six seconds thanks to a high perform ance 260 hp, five-cylinder, 2.4-litre engine. The styling of the C30 Design Concept is inspired by the classic Volvo P1800 ES and Volvo's recent SCC (Safety Concept Car) and incorporates today's m odern Volvo styling cues such as a boat-shaped aerodynam ic front section and shapely rear shoulders enhanced by the horseshoe-shaped rear light clusters. Volvo has a busy schedule of new model launches in 2006, but the C30 will be one of the m ost significant as it does not replace an existing model and is designed to appeal to new, younger custom ers w ithout children who w ant a com pact prem ium car th at's good to drive and has plenty of style. Volvo carried out research clinics to gauge opinions of younger professional couples and singles across Europe.
