Proceeds from the Festival ofTrees will support the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) hospice program. The annual event involves a raffle of trees and wreaths beautifully decorated by volunteers and which are on display at Oakville Place Mall around the ground floor elevators from now until Saturday, Dec. 9 at which time the winning tickets will be drawn at 5 p.m. Raffle proceeds will be donated to Acclaim Health & Community Care Services (formally known as Victorian Order of Nurses (VON Halton) in support of hospice programs assisting families dealing with serious illness. Last year, Maycourt raised $9,000 for the cause and has contributed $213,500 over the last 17 years. Raffle tickets cost $2 each, five for $3, or 10 for $8.
