The series was founded in 1979. The Oakville Players show runs from Wednesday (Nov. 9) to Saturday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, 130 Navy St. A 2 p.m. matinee is also scheduled on Sun day, Nov. 13. That' s the tagline for the Oakville Drama Series production of Gibson & Sons, a comedy about love, marriage and funerals -- all under one roof. Directed by Angie Fyke and written by Oakville resident Kristen Da Silva, Gibson & Sons tells the story of Harry Gibson, who -- while helping his father save their struggling small-town funeral home -- has put a serious damper on his dating life. Hoping to find love, Harry turns to an online Russian bride service, and meets Katya, a young woman with dreams of coming to Canada. "When Katya arrives, along with her acer bic older sister Eva, the Gibson household is thrown into a tailspin," stated a media release. "Now, Harry needs to convince his tradi tional father that he's doing the right thing, convince himself that he's ready for m arriage... oh, and somehow break it to his new bride that their marital home will be shared with the dearly departed. But Harry' s not the only one with secrets...." Fyke likens to the show to a late `70s, early `80s sitcom. "Funny, family-friendly and wacky as hell," she said in the release. Lest We Forget --A Musical Tribute to our Veterans will be performed by the Burlington Welsh Male Chorus and Enchorus Children's Choir at the 1469 Nottinghill Gate church.
