Music from the Heart promotes the creation and debut of The National Anti-Bullying Association - Oakville and Burlington Initiative. "Bullying in its various forms re mains a major issue facing youths across Canada and right here in our community," said Cynthia Konopka, an Oakville resident who will be per forming at the concert. "To this end we are asking for your support towards a holiday concert taking place this December, launch ing a unique anti-bullying initiative." The concert will be held at St. John United Church, 262 Randall St., from 7-9 p.m. In addition to showcasing Konopka on vocals and the violin, the concert will feature pianist Oszkar Morzsa and flutist Mate Szigeti. In addition to raising awareness for anti-bullying initiatives in the Oakville and Burlington community, the concert marks the launch of a spe cial collaboration between Konopka, T h eD ia ryo fA n n eF ra n k staged at STA high school St. Thomas Aquinas (STA) Catholic Secondary Schools the atre production of The Diary o f Anne Frank is being staged from Dec. 14-17. The production, by Frances Goodrick and Albert Hackett, is a stage adaptation of the book The Diary o f a Young Girl by Anne Frank, who was in hiding for two years with her fam ily during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Anne, along with her family, was apprehended in 1944 and eventually died of typhus in a concentration camp. STAs production will be held at the 124 Dorval Dr. school with evening performances at 7 p.m. and a matinee show on Saturday, Dec. 17 at noon. Tickets cost $8 in advance and $10 at the door, which opens 10 minutes before show time. To purchase tickets, visit the Oakville school' s main office or call 905-842-9494. TAB teacher Sophie Stelmach' s Grade 11 drama class is stag ing All I Really Need to Know I Learned From Being a Zombie by Jason Pizzarello at 7 p.m. at the 1160 Rebecca St. school' s studio theatre. Tickets cost $5 in advance or $7 at the door. Proceeds will go towards SafetyNet, a children and youth charity in Oakville that provides assistance to families through free clothing, music lessons, and tutoring. Audience members are also encouraged to bring a small pack of diapers for ages four-six years old for two tickets to the show. The play is directed by Sylvia Goncalves.
