O ur goal at H alton Region is to deliver a b u d g et th a t w ill keep taxes at or belo w th e rate o f inflation w h ile m aintaining our AAA credit rating and financial sustainability. The Budget, Halton Region's financial plan for 2017, includes strategic investm ents in essential areas such as state o f go o d repair for infrastructure, affordable and assisted housing, Param edic Services and th e H alton Region C o m m unity Investm ent Fund. A dditional investm ents are also included for th e im p le m en tatio n o f a Long term W ater M eter Strategy and to supp ort th e next stages o f d ev e lo p m e n t in various Regional W aterfront M aster Plans. As you finish tidying up afte r th e holidays and start th e N ew Year, here are a fe w things to rem em ber: · G ift w rap, ribbons and bows go in th e garbage. · Paper plates, cups and napkins go in th e G reen Cart. · Bundled cardboard boxed, dairy and juice cartons, alum inum trays and cans go in th e Blue Box. · Christmas trees will be collected th e w e e k o f January 9 and January 16 on your regular collection day.
