Pudgy and her husband met when they were students at Queen' s University and have been acting since 1985. She says they have been cast together many times and have natural on-stage chemistry. They also performed You Say Toma to, I Say Shut Up two years ago at the Missis sauga Living Arts Centre. The Quasts, who both have professional ca reers outside of theatre, took a break from the stage while they raised two children, who are now in their teens. Pudgy says they are gradu ally starting to get back to acting. "It' s nice to be back," she adds. The production tells the story of real-life couple Annabelle Gurwitch and Jeff Kahn, two American actors, in a funny and moving mem oir of their marriage. Pudgy says the audience can easily relate to what the characters are saying and the "ebb and flow" of the on-stage couple' s relationship. "It' s sweet and it' s a funny show," she adds. "People laugh a lot. In the end, love prevails." You Say Tomato, I Say Shut Up opened Jan. 11 and continues Jan. 12-14 (8 p.m.) and Jan. 15 (2 p.m.) at the Oakville Centre, Wilson Audito rium West End Studio Theatre.
