The Hornets took the best-of-hve series 3-1, losing Game 3 by a 2-0 score after win ning the first two 1-0 and 7-0. A night after being shut out, Oakville showed why it was the league' s top offen sive team. Already up 1-0 on a power-play goal by Sarah Fillier, the Hornets scored three times in 55 seconds with goals by Jovanovich, Lexie Adzija and Annie Mac Donald. Maddie Sisokin and Jovanovich added two more in the second to extend the lead to 6-0. Victoria Klimek, with two, and Emma Maltais and Jovanovich scored Oakville' s other goals. Aimee Raithby supplied Burlington' s only goal to keep Hornets' netminder Maddy McArthur from recording a shutout. Adzija and Jessica Digirolamo each had three assists for Oakville while Maltais and Kayla Fillier had two apiece. Mackenzie earns two honours Oakville' s Kimbal Mackenzie was honoured twice, first as a thirdteam Patriot League basketball all star, then as a member of the con ference' s all-academic team. Mackenzie did not suffer from a sophomore slump, proving to be one of the league' s most im proved players. A reserve who averaged 4.6 points per game in his freshman season at Bucknell University, Mackenzie earned a starting guard role and averaged 11.4 points this year, including 13.4 in league play Mackenzie shot 47 per cent from the field, 40.3 per cent from threepoint range and 81.4 per cent from the foul line. He is also averaging 1.2 steals, 2.4 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game. The former Holy Trinity student was also honoured for his work in the classroom.
