Laroche is a graduate of Fine Art at Laval University and has spent more than 25 years searching for her own pathway of printmak ing, guided by her passion for fragmentation. Her work is evocative, with roots from her heritage of the ancient culture of 16 th cen tury Quebec. She also draws inspiration from nature and her surroundings. This is the third in a series of shows featur ing works from Sybil Rampen, Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre owner. The hrst two ex hibitions in this series were The Christmas Collection (Dec. 2 0 1 6 ) and The Riches o f Life (Jan. 20 1 7 ). W ith more than 90 of Laroche' s creations in her personal collection, Rampen has se lected her favourite pieces to display in the gallery, as well as several new ones, which will be for sale. I feel an affinity towards ancient cultures and like my work to convey a sense of timelessness," La roche said in a media release. "In each series I develop different aspects of the same image. Each image is different because of the many layers of Aquarelle cray ons, which create unexpected colour and tex tural changes." Laroche arrived for a workshop at Joshua Creek Studio in 1989 and has participated in the invention of watercolour printmaking ever since. Joshua Creek Studio provides ongoing classes and workshops during the year. The gallery is open Tuesday through Sun day from 1 to 4 p.m. or by appointment. ft_ _ film ca c in e m a s 171 Speers Road (at Kerr) Oakville :a THE C HOLE m W eAreTheCIrde.coni 905-338-6397 www.film.ca fa c e b o o k .c o m /film c a @ F ilm ca cin e m as THE BOSS BABY (STC) M A R C H 31 SMURFS: THE LOSTViLLAG E (G ) a p r il 7 THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS (S Tc) a p r il 14 b o n c o p B AD c o p (1 4 A ) FREE ScREENING A pR IL 19 ( n a t io n a l c a n a d ia n f il m d a y ) THE c ir c l e (s tc ) a p r il 28
