That' s according to Hamish Guthrie, WOSS teacher and debate coach, who told the Oakville Beaver the March 24 -2 6 Harvard College World Schools Invitational was the group of four students' last-ever in high school, so it' s "wonderful they've done so well." The Oakville school finished in ninth place. "They're going to Harvard shows the wonderful opportunities that debate opens to high school students," said Guthrie. "We have often gone to debate tournaments at Canadian universities, but don't often get the chance to debate at universities outside the country." The White Oaks team, which called itself Team Northern Oaks.
