The Brampton Excelsiors scored five times in eight minutes to hand the Oakville Buzz their third straight loss. The Buzz led Saturday's Ontario Jr. B Lacrosse game 6-3 when the Brampton scored goals 39 sec onds apart to cut the lead to one midway through the second period. The Excelsiors then added three more in a span of 1:29 late in the period to take the lead for good. Austin Redding's goal early in the third pulled the Buzz within one, but Brampton scored two un answered goals for a 10-7 victory. Adam Wolf, Jaden Walcot and Nate Braniff each had a goal and an assist while Josh Morton and Kyle Kennery also scored for Oakville. Matt An derson had two assists. The Buzz jumped in front for a 5-1 lead in the opening period but the Bulldogs scored four straight to erase the lead. Redding and Kennery re stored Oakville's lead but again Halton Hills battled back to tie the score, before Redding's second of the period put the Buzz up 9-8 heading into the third. Wolf scored three times for the Buzz and added two assists while Redding and Hayden Coulman each had a pair of goals. Anderson had a goal and four assists while Kennery and Luke Pilcher had Oakville's other goals and Walcot had two assists. Oakville travels to Bowmanville on tonight to play the Green Gaels before returning home to face the West Durham Ironheads Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Joshua's Creek Arenas. Q. Hro o O > m CD m 3 7 Jr. C Buzz open season with two victories Tanner Fabiano scored three times to spark a sev en-goal second period in a 9-4 win over the Cale don Bandits Saturday as the Oakville Buzz kicked off the Ontario Jr. C season with a pair of victories. Fabiano scored his three goals in a span of 6:18 and Nathan Maracle and Andrew Deryck each had a pair of goals in the period. Maracle scored a shorthanded goal in the opening minute of the second to break the 1-1 tie and then added another with one second remaining in the period to send the Buzz into the third leading 8-2. Alex Kew had a goal and three assists and Kevin Power scored and set up two more. A night earlier, Zulian broke an 8-8 tie with 8:42 to play and added an insurance goal four minutes later to complete his hat trick in a 10-8 win over Mimico. Maracle scored twice and Kew and Zak Green ing each had a goal and two assists. Also scor ing for the Buzz were Grant Paterson, Power and Thomson. Fabiano and Thomas MacDonald each had two assists. Mason was again in net for the win.
