Neil Skelding was appointed board of directors chair in March. He accepted the Mississauga Halton LHIN position for a three-year period, until March 14, 2020. He first joined RBC Insurance in January 2003 as executive vice president of Life Operations and also served as Neil Skelding president and CEO of RBC Life Insurance Company He was appointed to his current position in September 2004. Prior to working for RBC Insurance, Skelding held a number of senior positions in the Canadian insurance industry with Transamerica Life Canada and Zurich Canada. The Oakville resident is also active in the community as a member of McMaster University's board of governors and investment committee. Skelding is a past chair of the board of directors for Credit Valley Hospital and led the voluntary merger with the Mississauga and Queensway hospitals. He served as treasurer and vice-chair of the Trillium Health Partners and was on the Principal's Advisory Council for the University of Toronto (Mississauga campus). The latter role garnered him a 2011 Arbour Award.
