3 | Friday June 2 , 2 0 1 7 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | w w w .insidehalton.com Meet EMS on Paramedic Day People can take emergency vehicle tours, get hands-on lessons in CPR and learn more about paramedic services during Halton's in augural Paramedic Day Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To mark this year's Paramedic W eek, recog nized nationally from May 28 to June 3, Halton Region is opening up its paramedic head quarters at the W oodlands Operation Centre, 1179 Bronte Rd., in Oakville for a special, behind-the-scenes experience for the whole family. "Every day Halton's paramedics help save lives across our com m unity and I'm grateful to them for the important role they play in treat ing the emergency medical needs o f our resi dents," said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. The Paramedic Day event will give the pub lic a unique experience to learn more about Halton's Paramedic Services as they participate in a variety o f activities including: emergency vehicle tours, a tactical paramedic display, a bike medic display, hands-on CPR lessons, an interactive bike helmet safety station, local food trucks and more. Halton Region's Paramedic Services oper ates 2 4 hours a day, seven days a week. Halton paramedics provide pre-hospital care to residents in Oakville, Burlington, Halton Hills and Milton. The service is comprised o f more than 2 2 0 full and part-time paramedics with a fleet of 3 4 emergency response vehicles.
