At top right, Cheryle Jacobs, Peel Aboriginal Network, spoke of being both a indigenous women and a survivor of violence. Rebecca Burrows of SAVIS (Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services), which co-hosted the event, spoke to those attending. The evening included speakers, music, refreshments and the march. The event was hosted by Sheridan's Community Worker -- Outreach and Development program, Gerontology department, Social Services Worker program and the Social Justice and Action Committee in partnership with the Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services of Halton, Peel Aboriginal Network, Centre for Indigenous Learning and Support, Centre for Equity and Inclusion, Sheridan Student Union and Student Affairs.
