Scoring for the Jackals were Jason Buckley lg, Mathew Gulliver la. ATOM Silver Medal Game: Bears vs Jawz The first 10 minutes of this game was very tightly played with few scoring opportunities for both teams. However, the Jawz' short bench finally made the difference in this game as the Bears were able to capitalize on a tired Jawz team and eventually prevail 8-2. Scoring for the Bears were Eric Joyce 2g,2a, Kyle Daly 4a, Eric Park 3a, Andrew Johnson lg .la, Andy Killip lg,2a, Jared Ross lg.la, Mathew Makowka lg, Ryan Jurgen lg, Evan Hayman lg. Scoring for the Jawz were Callum Munro lg .la, Michael Lamantia lg, Greg Lecenski la. Gene Howe la, Jonathan Oliver la. Gold Medal Game: Sting vs Crushers The Sting were in tough against the regular season first place Crushers, but they were not intimidated as they battled the Crushers right to the final minute, in the end, the Crushers were too overpowering for the Sting to handle as they won the game 4-1. Scoring for the Crushers were Andrew Beauchamp lg .la, Eric Car lg .la, Sean Crawford lg .la, Chris Macsai 2a, Lawrence Edmonds la. Dean Bernard la. Scoring for the Sting were Matt Rogers lg, Michael Bertie la, David Currell la. Platinum Medal Game: Antz vs Rats After both teams upset the top two seeds the previous week, we were in for a great championship game. In a great goaltenders' dual, the first goal was not scored until 11 minutes into the game, when Patrick Kahnert scored his first of three on the night. The Antz answered back only a minute later, and they traded goals again with only seconds remaining in the first half. With the score tied at two heading to the second half, the Rats were finally able to crack the Antz goaltender and explode for three more goals. The Antz answered with one of their own but that was as close as they would get as the Rats iced the game scoring late in the second half scoring their sixth goal of the night. The final score Rats 6, Antz 3. Scoring for the Rats were Patrick Kahnert 3g,la, David Schonbom 2g,la, Zackary Richardson lg, Alex Cressman la, Brent Adams la, Bryan Van Haaster la. Scoring for the Antz were Justin Sasso lg .la , Michael Harrison lg,2a, Alex McAleece lg, Scott Irvine la. MINOR PEEWEE Silver Medal Game: Crushers vs Antz The Antz doubled up on the Crushers 8-4 winning the silver medal. The Antz took a commanding 4-1 lead into the second half and never looked back as they went on to score four more goals for an easy 8-4 vic tory. The Crushers mounted a comeback in the second half scoring three goals but it was too little too late for the Crushers. Scoring for the Antz were Stephen Wheeler 3g,2a, Derek Steele 3g,2a, Matthew Riddell lg,3a, Ryan Shilling lg, Ryan Wager la, Andrew Ball la. Scoring for the Crushers were Mario Mancuso 3g,la, David Dobrinsky lg,2a, Jason Keen lg .la, Granett Douglas la. Gold Medal Game: Jawz vs Rats The first place Rats had no problems beating the Jawz for the gold medal. Although the Jawz fought until the end, the Rats were just too much as they won 8-3. Scoring for the Rats were Brock Keily 3g,2a, Lucas Pam an zone 2g,3a, Matthew Wood, lg,2a, Andrew Dubowec lg .la, Tyler Alderson lg. Scoring for the Jawz were Conor Kelly 2g, Marcus Pryde 2a, Jason Wood la, Adam King lg. Matt Pike la. Platinum Medal Game: Sting vs Bears An evenly played first half saw the Bears score three goals while the Sting could not counter with any. Although trailing by three at half, the Sting battled back scoring to make it 3-1 with eight minutes still to play. However, some penalty trouble gave the Bears a chance to capitalize with two more goals. Down by four, the Sting never gave up, scoring two late goals to come within two with under a minute to play. With the goalie out, the Sting applied the pressure, but the Bears' defence and goaltending enabled them to capture the Platinum Championship. Scoring for the Bears were Tyler Gardner 3g, Carson Jenkin 3a, Bryan Carey lg, Scott Browson lg, Bryce Ryzensoff la. Scoring for the Sting were Mike Galbraith 3a, Scott Gringmuth lg, Matt Self lg, Brandon Smith lg, Jon Fairclaugh la. PEEWEE Tin Medal Game: Vipers vs Mystics Six first half goals by the Mystics was enough to beat the Vipers on this night. Although the Vipers made it close coming to within three goals, it was the Mystics who would win the Tin Medal. Scoring for the Mystics were Joel Dixon 3g,la, Jesse Delucia lg,5a, Kevin Leroux lg, Graham Smith lg. Scoring for the Vipers were Alex Ferguson 2g,la, Ryan Donnelly lg, Albert Monachese la, Joe Shearer la, Chris Smith la. Bronze Medal Game: Sting vs Jawz The Jawz scored early and often in this one as they ended up with 14 on the night, beating the Sting 14-2. Scoring for the Jawz were Nicholas Randall 5g,2a, Alfred Lee 4g,3a, Brandon Lee 4g,2a, Cody Lowry 2a, Andrew Mise 2a, Stephen Green 2a, Calvan Usher lg. Scoring for the Sting were Travis Dom lg, Michael Zucchiatti lg. Derrick Wood la. Silver Medal Game: Fog vs Antz The Antz dominated this game from the start winning 11 -4 in a pretty one-sided game. Although the Fog were short players, they never gave up and scored two late goals to prove it. Scoring for the Antz were Luke Tresham 2g,3a, Vincent Picone 3g, Shawn Sturgen 2g,la, Steven Mills lg .la, Scott Brownson lg .la, Jeff Brownson lg .la, Michael Kranz lg. lot ,Oj .^ -q J t- .210* Pd \z )?S» r ijr to k noi/o', XWLZl rix&t PddPi •'90r (oU C f t .-.of* <436. Gold Medal Game: Jackals vs Crushers The Jackals took a 1-0 lead into the second half, but the Crushers ral lied for six second half goals to win the Gold 6-2. It was a game which either team could have won, but the Crushers had the bounces going their way in the second half, and that was the difference. Scoring for the Crushers were Brandon Taverner 2g,3a, Michael Nevins lg,2a, ,-X Justin Vandenberg lg .la, Scott Kerr lg, Taylor Jenkin la. Scoring for the Jackals were Carson Jenkin 2g, Geoffrey Smthurst la, * Chris Hanson la, Neil Murray la, Bryce Ross la. Platinum Medal Game: Bears vs Rats The biggest dpset of the night came in the championship game as the undefeated Rats fell to the Bears. It was a game that was dominat ed by the Bears. But with three minutes to go in the game, the Rats were only down by two. They had battled back from a 4-0 deficit. It was 5-3 with three minutes to play. A couple of key saves by Guilliaum Daigneault and a few Bears' bounces and they managed to ice the game with an empty net goal with only six seconds left. Scoring for the Bears were Jeff Chandler lg .la, Sean Tompa 2g,la, Michael Bruder lg .la, Jason Sasso la, David Schramm lg, Daniel Weston la, Angelo Alberga la, Michael Wanless la, Taylor Stevens lg. Scoring for the Rats, Mackenzie Hudd 2g, Jason Miconi 3a, Luis Crisostomo 2a, David Moody lg. JUNIOR Silver Medal Game: Bears vs Crushers Penalties would allow the Bears to upset the Crushers for the Silver medal. An early ejection to one of the Crushers top defensemen would leave the Crushers in a hole they would not be able to climb out of. The Bears' high powered offence was too much on this night as they handled the Crushers 11 -6. Scoring for the Bears were Mike Reynolds 4g,2a, Jeff Lewis lg,4a, Brian Tyler 2g,2a, Matthew Joubame 2g,2a, Todd Evershed 2g,3a. Scoring for the Crushers were Ryan Fitzsimmons 3g,la, Drew Karges 2g, Dan Wey 2a, Andrew Leduc la, James Brown la, Tom Gorham la. Gold Medal Game: Antz vs Jawz Another upset saw the Antz defeat the Jawz in the best game of the night. The two teams traded goals all game long until the Antz were able to seal the win into an empty net with only seconds remaining. The final score was the Antz 8 and the Jawz 6. Scoring for the Antz were Luke Domski 3g, Geoff Browne lg .la, Rob Carson lg.la, Rob Friday lg.la, Waylon Clay lg, Cody Finney lg, Dustin Stacey 2a, Nick Ball la, Brandon Calquhoun la, Mike Bums la. Scoring for the Jawz were Mike Ryzynski lg,2a, Jordan Cottingham 2g, Jory Meirsner lg .la, Stuart Matheson lg .la, Lisa Robertson la, Sean Robertson lg, Andrew Stem la, Gregg Carr la. Platinum Medal Game: Sting vs Rats The Rats proved once again that they were the best team in the Junior division as they easily handled the Sting 9-2. They were the first place team all year and had no problems keeping that title in the finals. They dominated this game from the start and they made a very good Sting team look very average. Scoring for the Rats were Mike Folland 3g,2a, Dave Telewiak 2g,3a, Jeff Brown lg,2a, Mike Ball lg,4a. Matt Edwards 2g,la. Scoring for the Sting were Gord Chrysler lg, Mike Zack lg, Jeremy Davidson la, Dan Rosso la. ADULT Bronze Medal Game: Vipers vs Antz The Vipers scored with 1:48 left in the second half to win the Bronze medal game 5-4. Scoring for the Vipers were Chuck Stevens lg,2a, Colin Brock lg, John Womig lg, Paul Malinowki la. Scoring for the Antz were Graham Hilton lg,2a. Brad Grant lg .la, Ryan Gillis 2a, David Argo lg, Dave Kelly lg, Paul Caprocci la. Silver Medal Game: Bears vs Jawz Another close game in which teams trade goals in the first half, but it was the Bears who would out last the Jawz winning the game 6-4. Scoring for the Bears were Rob Schiavone 2g, Phil Filcone lg, Spudowsi 2a, Darren Mcallen la, Andy Cravitz lg. Scoring for the Jawz were Shane Labelle lg, Mike Schiller2g, Nick Jackson la. Rich Orr la. Brad Lormier lg. * Gold Medal Game: Rats vs Crushers The Rats completely dominated the Crushers winning the game 6-0. The Rats controlled the game from the start and never gave the Crashers a chance to get in it. Scoring for the Rats were Ron Piercey 3g,la, Larry Alderson lg,2a, Eric Anderson lg .la, Todd Anderson lg,2a. Jay Labelle lg, Dale Anderson la, Eric Pike 3a, Jeff Lee la. Platinum Medal Game: Sting vs Jackals It took a shootout to decide the Platinum Champions, in what was a very physical game. Both teams played extremely well as they traded goals throughout the game. With both teams taking turns owning the lead, it was tied at 7 heading into a shootout. With both teams missing their top scorers for the shootout, it was up to the goaltenders to win it for their team. The Sting scored and the Jackals missed on their first shots. The Sting scored on their second shot, so all they needed was a save from their goaltender, and that is exactly what they got as they captured the Platinum Championship 9-7. Scoring for the Sting were A1 Davis 3g, James O'Connor 2g, Pat Huffman lg,2a, Zack Weston lg, Troy Micelli la, Graham Finney 2a, Paul Polak lg ,la, Tony Sabatino lg.la. Scoring for the Jackals were Kevin Rutledge 3g, Andy Diyden 4g, Colin Hooper lg, Glen Innes la, Mark Gomy la, Blair Blackie 2a, Owen Griffiths 2a.
