Welcome to the Great Flavour Of New Orleans! Popeyes' menu heritage is rooted deep in the culture and history of New Orleans and South Louisiana. Nobody knows Spicy Fried Chicken like we do - 'cause we invented it! Over 25 years ago, Popeyes came out with the original New Orleans Spicy Fried Chicken. We still use our very own blend of zesty seasonings to get just the right wake-up-your-taste-buds fla vo u r... but if you prefer, we will serve it traditionally sea soned for a deliciously Louisiana Mild taste, too. Chicken strips - we took out the bone. . . but left in all the terrific taste. That famous French Quarter flavour can be found in all our Chicken Sandwiches, each of which has a tantalizing taste all its own. Popeyes' Signature Sides are truly Bowk of Greatness! Just to name a few; Red Beans 'n Rice, Cojun Rice (they coll it " Dirty Rice' in New Orleans), Mashed Potatoes smothered in Cajun G ravy.. .and flu ffy Buttermilk Biscuits with melt in your mouth goodness. So, come on bock soon - our Great Flavour's a party for your mouth! 2501 Hampshire Gate, Unit # 3, Oakville (Winston Churchill & Dundas) (905) 829-2786 Boating is booming By Sandy Currie SPECIAL TO THE BEAVER I had the opportunity recently to review some stats on boating from Industry Canada and a Decima Research study on boating. The numbers show that more Canadians are going boating than ever before. For example, five years ago 15 percent of Canadian households owned a boat. Today, that number is up to 19 percent. In 1992 there were 1.7 million licensed boats in Canada. That rose to 2 million in 1997 with another half million non-licensed boats, such as canoes, pedal boats and small sailboats, on the water as well. With two and a half million boats, it's not sur prising that there are over 1,000 marinas and boating clubs across Canada. What might sur prise you, though, is that recreational boating represented an estimated $1.5 billion to our economy in 1998, including $800,000 in exports. What all this says is that boating is on the increase as a recreational activity for more and more Canadians and as an important business for Canada. And according to those numbers, the chances are pretty good that if you aren't cur rently a boat owner, you may be planning to become one soon.
