ROM well worth visiting If you haven‘t been to the Royal Ontario Museum lately, it might be time to reacquaint your family with Canada‘s largest public museum. Much more than an educational outâ€" ing, a few hours at the ROM proâ€" vides children of all ages an opporâ€" tunity to experience a few million years of history. Don‘t miss the Life Sciences Galleries which features actual preâ€" served specimens of reptiles and mammals from all over the world. The extensive Gallery of the Birds displays an amazing selection of almost every type of bird. The drawers underneath the showcases have examples of the many types of feathers, eggs, and nest of these birds. Of special interest to young ones is the Insect Gallery â€" a mindâ€" boggling array of the largest, most unusual assortment of spiders, roaches, butterflies, and crawling critters from every continent. Some are alive and well in display cases for your viewing pleasure! Find time to visit the "Magnificent Minerals" and "Gem and Gold Room" where you will find breathtaking examples of every type of jewel and gem imaginable from all parts of the globe. There are also more than 1,200 objects featured in a collection of early Learn CPR, live healthy The St. John Ambulance is encouraging everyone in Oakville to adopt Healthy Heart Lifestyles and learn CPR. Some of these boxes are on subâ€" jects such as fossils, bones, shells, gemstones, leaves, spices, plants, fabrics, and animal tracks. This demonstration area is open on weekends and holidays from 1 to 5 p.m. on a firstâ€"come basis and at various other times during the week. The Discovery Gallery is limited to children 6 and up (6 to 8 years require adult accompaniâ€" ment), and there is a maximum number allowed in and a time limit for each child.
