The association has requested the Town of Oakville place two stop signs on the west and east corners of Education was not the only conâ€" cern on the agenda. Residents comâ€" plained that motorists driving north on Dorval Drive, in order to avoid a bottleneck on Upper Middle Road between Dorval Drive and Fourth Line, are speeding through West Oak Trails and using Glen Valley Boulevard as a short cut to get to Fourth Line. They then drive back onto Upper middle Road. To get a clear picture of the boards‘ intentions, and to make sure there will be adequate school facilities for West Oak Trails residents, the association has invited Ward 4 trustees, Penny Siebert of the Halton Board of Education and Bryan Mcintyre of the Separate School Board to attend its next meeting. She was also concerned that should the Halton Board decide not to build a high school in Glen Abbey on the currently designated site, it might consider an alternative school site in West Oak Trails. An elementary school is Number 11 on the Halton Board of Education‘s list, according to Syzan Talo, coordinator of the association. At the monthly meeting of the West Oak Trails Association of Residents (WOTAR) last week, resiâ€" dents expressed concern that the Catholic elementary school â€" now slated as Number Two on the board‘s list â€" might be bumped by other neighborhoods. West Oak Trails residents are makâ€" ing sure they are not forgotten in the allocation of schools by both the Halton Board of Education and Halton Roman Catholic Separate School Board. Trusteesâ€"WOTAR to debate school sites Resident, Steve Jenner, was the winner of the association‘s contest to name the first park in West Oak Trails. Jenner‘s "Oakridge Park", as well as, the runner up "West Oak Meadows", will be submitted to the Town of Oakville for consideration. "I‘m concerned that development charges are being used elsewhere than where they are collected," said Talo. She plans to get more information on the allocation of the charges for the association. Development charges was also another issue raised. Residents wantâ€" ed to know how funds collected are used to benefit their neighborhood.
