The River Oaks Community Church will distribute a gift to the community close to the River Oaks Recreation Centre where it meets. Over the next week it will distribute a book entitled "Christmas Digest" to 300 homes. The congregation is also encouraged to participate in the Salvation Army Christmas Fund drive. The church will hold its Christmas Eve candlelight service at Sheridan Hills Missionary Munn‘s Youth Group will also provide babysitting on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. for $4 per hour for a family of up to three children. Each additional child will cost an extra $1 per hour and light refreshâ€" ment will be served. The proceeds will help a needy family the youth group has adopted this Christmas. There is a special "Shopping Break" at the church from 2 to 4 p.m. tomorrow. Weary shoppers can take time out and enjoy a free musiâ€" cal concert and singâ€"song at the church followed by coffee and desert. Although many north Oakville churches have year round outreach programs in the community, tradiâ€" tionally Christmas is a time when most congregations step up their help to the needy. Munn‘s United Church is one of many churches which held a White Gift service last Sunday. Members of the congregation brought gifts, food and cash donations for Oakville families. The youth group at the church will put together basâ€" kets and deliver them to the families tomorrow. Sheridan Hills Missionary Church on Trafalgar Road will proâ€" vide a free dinner for those in need on Christmas Day. Those who would like to attend should contact Rev.
