The reason? To play with the new Blue Devils Academy, the official player development program of Oakville Blue Devils FC. The Blue Devils Academy offers a complete player pathway from U8 to League1 Ontario for male and female players. Led by one of the best and most experienced Technical Teams in the country, the Academy provides a professional environment for elite soccer players aspiring to pursue opportunities in college and university, Provincial and National teams, and professional clubs both domestically and internationally. The driving force behind the new Academy are two veterans of the professional soccer world. Duncan Wilde grew up playing in the youth system of his beloved hometown club Manchester United, while his coaching partner Billy Steele had a successful playing career for Norwich City during their days in the English First Division, along with his native Scotland. The two friends have coached together for more than 20 years at the pro level with the Toronto Lynx while also building one of the most suc cessful youth academies in the country. They are now firmly established in Oakville with their new club, Oakville Blue Devils FC - reviving a former professional club that they coached to a national championship in 2005. This will be an exciting year for the Club with the two-time cham pion men's team looking to defend their Leaguel Ontario title while also competing against other professional clubs such as Toronto FC in the Canadian Championship. The Club is also launching a new Leaguel Ontario women's team and girls Academy teams to complement their successful boys program.
